CHAKWERA PICKS CHAKAKA AS AG

President Lazarus Chakwera has appointed Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda as a new Attorney General after government terminated contract of the former Attorney General Dr Chikosa Silungwe on July 21 this year.

According to a statement signed by Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Zanga Zanga Chikhosi says the appointment is with effect from August 21, 2021.

This follows a public outcry on Chakwera’s delay to appoint a successor for Sulungwe citing that vacant AG in office contravenes legal operations of the government.
